Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew growing up in Mexico with a family that was devoted to music. Growing up, she listened to lots of traditional music as well as older boleros. In addition, she was a fan of the traditional romance ballads as well as ranchero. Ana is a fan of tangos, as well as the dramatic and opera performances. At age 16 she started singing and studying music with her mother. Flavio, a Mexican Tenor with a renowned reputation, began to provide her with more intense training in singing. Her musical education continued at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterward at the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. As a student and young professional, she sang with numerous chamber ensembles and opera choruses in Guadalajara as well as Mexico City. She sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus in the United States before moving to southern California. She sings with Ensemble XXI Redlands, and performs Latin American traditional music solo for many private functions. Alongside being an active performer as well as an instructor the passion for music and art keeps her active in a variety of initiatives. Ana has also been previously a member of Community Chorus of Redlands as and the Inland Master Chorale and Performance Loft. Ana is privileged to be able to bring to others her passion for traditional Latin American music. She hopes this can inspire younger generations to preserve the traditions.
